Wayne W. Bryant, 83, of East Hartford and Tampa, FL, passed away peacefully on (December 1, 2009,) with his loving children by his side. Born December 28, 1925 in Barton, VT, he was the son of the late Alvin V. Bryant and Gertrude (Wheeler) Bryant and predeceased by a sister, Beverly and a brother, Kent. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy and served in the Philippines during World War II. He retired from the US Postal Service in 1987. He was well known as the "Country Drifter," fronting a country band that played locally dating back to the 1960's and 70's and more recently in the Tampa area. He was a long time member of the Country Music Assoc. of Nashville, TN and a life member of the CT County Music Assoc. and the Goldwing Road Riders Assoc., traveling by motorcycle the entire USA, Canada and Mexico. He was raised in Orient Lodge No. 62 in EH on November 16, 1960. He was also a life member of the EH Elks #2063 and belonged to the EH VFW #2083 and in Tampa, FL, the Moose Lodge #1741 and the AMVETS #9. He loved life and had many friends, but his greatest legacy is his seven children and their families, Bonnie and her husband, Gary Armentrout, Patti, Sue and her husband, John McNamara, Gary and his wife, Michelle, JoAnn Lukas, Glenn and Greg. He leaves thirteen grandchildren, Dan, Kimberly, Dawn, Tim, Brian, Kevin, Heather, Mark, Jeffrey, Dena, Emily, Sean and Michael and ten great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his loving best friend, Mary Andre, of Tampa, FL. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Wayne's memory can be made to Lifepath Hospice, 3010 W. Azeele St., Attn: Donations Dept., Tampa, FL 33609.
