WB E. Charlie Reed, Jr. passed to the celestial lodge this past Saturday, Aprll 17, 2010. Charlie was raised a Master Mason in Daskam Lodge No. 86 on November 14, 1956. He was a 54 year member of Columbia Lodge No. 25. He served as Worshipful Master of Thomas Talbot Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Billerica, MA in 2003-2004. There will be a memorial and Masonic service on Wednesday, April 21st (this Wednesday) at 2 P.M. at All Saints Episcopal Church on 10 Billerica Rd., Chelmsford, MA, 01824 (Chelmsford Center).

NORTH CHELMSFORD -- Mr. Emerson Charles Reed Jr. of N. Chelmsford died Friday, April 16, 2010 at Palm Manor Nursing Home in Chelmsford after a long illness surrounded by his loving family.

He was married to Mrs. Sally (Schaefer) Reed with whom he would have celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on July 19, 2010.

Emerson was born in Hartford CT on August 14, 1935, the son of the late Emerson C. and Lillian (Bragg) Reed Sr. He was a graduate of Glastonbury High School of Glastonbury CT with the class of 1953. He graduated from Northeastern University with the class of 1977 with a Bachelor in Science in Electrical Engineering.

He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He was employed with RCA of Burlington, and retired from Digital Corp. of Marlborough in 1984.

He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church of Chelmsford.

He was a member of the Masons belonging to Columbia Lodge of S. Glastonbury CT, and Past Master of the Thomas Talbot Lodge of Billerica. Emerson was an avid ham radio operator belonging to the Billerica Amateur Radio Club and the Yankee Clipper Contest Club. He enjoyed cooking and reading.

Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Michelle and William Thomas of Chelmsford MA and Maureen and Paul Polson of N. Chelmsford MA, a sister, Joanne Reed of Myrtle Beach SC, and three grandchildren, Ashley, Matthew, and Sean Thomas all of Chelmsford MA. Emerson is also survived by his cat, Tommy as well as many nieces and nephews, and several close friends.
